HYBRID UROGYNECOLOGY COURSE
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
In the context of the recent US FDA order to manufacturers to stop selling surgical mesh intended fortransvaginal repair of pelvic organ prolapse, it is our responsibility to prepare and develop new techniques giving acceptable results without the use of meshes.
The goal of this course is to provide an overview of the current situation, to counsel doctors on what to do and what not and to present all available alternative techniques for both POP and Stress incontinence. Participants will have the opportunity to develop their thinking and form an opinion with the help of lectures and live surgeries observation.
Live procedures will be performed to demonstrate the new techniques that can be implemented to treat POP and stress incontinence without the use of meshes.
